service engine light came on while driving, no apparent problem
While driving down the highway today my service engine light came on and will not go out. What tool do I need to read the code. If I remove the battery cable will it reset itself and then light if the problem continues to be there. Salty

Hold down the options button, press the fuel button 4 times, and it'll read off all codes. Write them down. If any have a "C" after them, it means they are current codes. "H" means history. If they are all H codes, erase them by using the Options/trip buttons to scroll through the list of codes and pressing "reset" to clear them.

Mine came on once. I tightened the gas cap a whole bunch more 'clicks', re-started the car, hit 'reset' and the CK ENGINE was gone!
