Torque Tube Front Clamp
I recently installed a 6.0L engine to replace the tired out 5.7 that was original to my 2000 automatic. After Getting it back on the road my flex plate started making noise, so I am now in the process of replacing it. On other posts mention has been made to snug the torque tube clamp, run the car for 10 minutes, then do the final tightening. It was stated that if that wasn't done the flex plate could be damaged, which might have been my issue.
Question:
1) How snug should it be (in ft/lbs) for the 10 minute break in period?
2) Can anyone shed light on how just torquing the bolt down and driving the car would have caused the flex plate damage that other people have mentioned.
Thanks in Advance,
Tim
