Need help finding noise/problem
I put it in 2nd while trying to go to 4th on track. I slowly letout clutch and rear end started to lock up. I pushed clutch back in and put it on 4th and continued on. No noises or odd behavior from diff or tranny during the rest of that trackday or in the 3 days of street driving after.
Now day 4 of street driving i heard a noise. It sounds like slightly misaligned gears spining. It only happens when i hit a decent size dip in road or take an off camber turn with a fair amount of suspension travel.it seems to be when part throttle or steady state throttle. It seems to be when the rear lifts not compresses. It is from rear of car for sure. Car does not lose power or drag. I can't "feel" it in my butt or through steering wheel. It has happened in 2nd gear, 5th, and 6th. May happen in 1st 3rd or 4th but hard to duplicate. Car feels good and under hard throttle and braking no issues.
I want to go drive and see if I can feel it in gear **** and check other gears but i don't wanna cause an accident or die lol. This all was found yesterday on way home from work.
I have rear off ground and starting to T/S. Anybody got advice or ideas how to check tranny or diff if i "knocked" something loose? Or ever have this issue?
TIA!
Kirk

Maybe record and post the noise. Hard to make a guess.

I decided to verify nothing was loose in the entire rear end. So I started taking things apart!!
I found passenger parking brake spring was loose and was contacting hub giving me that grinding noise. I removed the parking brake components minus the cable on both sides and zip tied the cable up. So far no noise!

It's always nice to hear what fixed the problem.
