Code C1278 on traction controll.... Any ideas?
When this code sets the computer cuts the throttle to 25% and sets a service traction controll and service selective ride controll. You can turn the key off and start back up and everything is ok. The service manual says this code is for information only. That it is used as an aid to the service technician. Any ideas?????

What model year. Also, is this history or current and... are there any other DTCs set?

I know that absent of any real problems, this was an intermittent software glitch peculiar to '98 models. Mine does this occasionally in conjuctiion with C1516 - I just reset.

Hib, the model is '99. Ther are acouple of other codes p1125H, p1186H- pedal position sensor. U1096H, U1064H,U1016H- loss of comm. with the BCM & PCM. The code on the TCS was C1278H- is that current or history or both? Thanks for your help.

C1278 TCS Temporarily Inhibited By PCM. Go to this link to see if any fix was implimented.
