Bought a used C6 model, and it pops out of 1st gear; I gotta hold it in gear. I'm assuming they're adjustable, but it didn't come with instructions. Gonna email Kirban, but some vendors are peculiar about supporting used parts, so if I get no joy from them, anyone got the instructions stashed away somewhere?

There are TWO adjustments. The standard shifter centering adjustment which is covered in numerous places & the SHIFT STOP ADJUSTMENTS.
The shift stop jam nuts (one for 1st, 3rd, 5th & one for 2nd, 4th, 6th) need to be loosened. The shift stop screws can be backed out until it does NOT limit the Stick from going into gear.
Put the trans in FULLY into first gear and drive the car and see if your popping out of gear is resolved. If not, insure that the shift stop bolt is properly backed out.
If the shift stop was the issue, you can leave it backed out and not use it and lock the jam nuts OR you can shift to 1st, press the stick fully into first and screw in the stop screw until it makes contact. Lock the adjustment screw down and see if you like the stop. I have mine set so that when I am FULLY in gear, I feel the hard shifter stop. Its my PROOF POSITIVE I am fully in gear.
Please let us know how you make out. Make SURE that you use FOUR LONGER fasteners for the shifter as the stock OEM shifter Screws are too short and will strip out.
Yeah, I already determined that the OEM bolts were too short. Got some at HD that were maybe 1/4" longer and they worked. I was surprised to see them being SAE and not metric.
Adjusting the stops seems to have solved the issue with popping out of gear. I only went on a brief test drive but it didn't happen once; before it happened almost every time I was in 1st.
What's the centering adjustment you were talking about? It's a bit hard to smack over into reverse. It'd be OK if it was right hand drive but pushing the shifter over is harder than pulling it over.
On a STOCK shifter, there is a small L shapped rod. You can put the trans in N and it should be able to press down into the base shift spindle.
If it doesnt, you loosen up the two bolts that secure the lower shifter housing to the TT. Move the lower housing FWD/AFT until the rod will insert into the shift spindle and you have the straight up N position of the box and the shifter handle.
If you no longer have the little L rod, just use a drill bit that fits into the hole without any slop.
The ZO6 (as pictured) had solid metal bushings between the box and the TT... The Coupe/Vert have rubber bushings and they can get nasty/weak. Aftermarket sells nylon ones. Check ZIP Performance.
