Default serpentine belt

i have a 2002 supercharged ls2 402 and my car runs fine but the serpentine belt barely spins? the power steering pump was making noise thats what caught my attention. i noticed with the belt off the crank pully was loose the bolt was almost out, tightned it up and put the belt back on no power steering noise, just the belt barely spins

Sounds like the vibration dampener is slipping on the crankshaft

With any POWER ADDER,, You put additional STRESS on the crank Dampener. Its ability to turn the belt with the added load is significantly degraded!!!

NOTE. The C5 & C6 OEM dampener is GARBAGE and they fail prematurely FAIL when in stock form and in stock use.
The elastermeric rubber between the Dampener HUB and the RING fails and becomes un bonded. The OEM dampener is PRESS FIT onto the crank and uses a Torque to Yeild bolt to properly secure it to the crank. If all that isnt properly installed, it FAILS

When you add a power adder to the engine the dampener MUST be PINNED to the crank.
It should also be changed to some sort of better aftermarket dampener.

I used a Powerbond / Dayco dampener and pinned mine to the crank I also UP GRADED to an ARP Crank Shaft Dampener Bolt.

NOTE: The OEM dampener bolt is a ONE TIME USE Bolt and uses a SPECIFIC tightening sequene that MUST be used to keep the dampener secured to the crank. If it came loose ,, something is seriously wrong and needs to be corrected. If your dampener is spinning on the crank, you have some SERIOUS ISSUES that need to be addressed NOW! Before it gets worse!

You need to see if your dampener is/was spinning on the crank OR if the dampener failed and the outer RING is spinning on the dampener HUB.

Please paint a line on the front of the hub and see if the line remains linde up after the engine is run.

thanks bill
ya the supercharger was installed by a and a corvette and they pin the dampener,im gonna get in real close because i think thats broken and thats why my power steering pump was making noise and the car running hotter than normal, and check the rubber on the dampener as soon as i saw it i turned the car off,the car still runs great with no vibration or niose.

What he said.

You need to address this immediately or things are going to get exciting under your hood very soon.

might as well go with an overdrive balancer and pick up a couple lbs of boost while you're at it
