having problem fueling my 04 C5. live in SOCAL, where we have to put up with the gas pump nozzles. I have to litterally stand & hold the lever at barely on or the pump will kick off. When I take car out of state, I do not haVE THAT PROBLEM AT THE PUMP::ack

Try inserting the nozzle all of the way and holding back the rubber vacuum/vapor recovery hose a bit.
this is how it is in Montreal, some pumps are ok but only have 91. Where I get 94, I have to pull the nozzle back some. Will try what jcgunn suggested once this bad bitch is back roaming the streets...
Some pumps have a vapor recovery system that consists of a rubber boot that is intended to seal against the car body. In some versions, this boot is under a small vacuum and this vacuum sucks fumes back up the dispenser hose and ultimately into an underground storage tank rather than allowing fumes to escape into the atmosphere.
