Hello, I recently purchased a 2004 Corvette base model, and it came with wheels of the C6 Style. As from what I've researched the C6 wheels are 18x8.5 front and 19x10 rear. But the tires mounted on the wheels on my car are the factory diameter and width for C5 Wheels (245/45-17 Front and 275/40-18 Rear). To my understanding, it shouldn't be possible for a 17-tire to mount an 18-wheel. As I'm competing in autocross I want to make sure the width is the same so I can stay in B street class. I plan on getting a set of track wheels and tires down the road anyway but for now, I wanted to make sure that the width was the same as the factory C5 wheels. Thank you.
They could be replica C6 wheels intended for the C5. Also when you get track wheels I recommend looking into a power steering cooler as when I upgraded to 275s in the front I blew my power steering pump.

The nice thing about wheels which are specifically designed for the C5 is that presumably they have the correct offset for the C5, negating the need for wheel spacers, longer wheel studs and arbitrarily changing the scrub radius and other suspension geometry, on a car that is equipped with marginal hub bearings.
You have reproductions for C5. I have C7 reproduction Z06 wheels for my C5 and no spacers needed and I got the same 17" and 18" diameter.
Back in the day I was given a 18 inch wheel and we got a 17 on it but the bead will never seat. The guy made a mistake on the wheel size. With a powerful enough machine it may get a tire on but it will never pop the bead. Of course he had a $1200 wheel too. Go figure. I got it off with no damage.
