I had that problem with both of my seats. In both cases it was the switch on the side of the seats. All fuses were good, all motors were good. I took apart the switch assy and found two open lands and soldered on two new very thin wires to replace the open lands. All is good now. Good luck with yours too.

Interesting and hope the switches fix it, though I'm not sure why they'd both fail at the same time after some rain...?

Yes rain and or car washes water leaks in thru the window, down to the seat and seaps into the switches. That is a very common problem.

I found a guy on Ebay that rebuilds them for $99..... is the switch very hard to get out? I'm kinda scared of breaking a plastic clip or something..... pretty sure it's the switch though bc I hit it a little yesterday and it started working..... which tells me the motor is still good..... checked it yesterday, and once again, nothing!

ok cool. I saw the switches on Ebay also for $100 to. So its the going rate to get them.
Its onloy a screw in the front of the seat and a screw on the side of the seat, and it comes right out. No big deal, less than 3 min. One connector at the rear of the switch unplugs from it. Then ya got it.
The switch itself has plastic tabs on the side of it holding it together. They just unsnap. then the PC board comes out.Im sure you will see that the board has a lot of crud and water erosion on it. Mine was looking terrible. Just cleaning it with alcohol helped a lot. I had to solder two broken lands to also fix mine.
ok?

Was worried about the metal clip inside the recliner lever..... but there is one phillips behind it, and do you know where the other is? Dang, all I've seen to purchase another one on Ebay was between $170 - $300!

If you want to troubleshoot,,,,, here is the schematic:

LUMBAR:

SEAT:

If you have a leak, I strongly recommend removing the seat and then the carpet and properly drying it out. If the SEAT POWER PLUG get wet,, OH BOY will that cause all sorts of crazy stuff to happen!!

Been there done that..

PS>> If you just want a good used switch, Check out VETTENUTS (Marc) He has a fantastic C5/C6 wrecking yard.. Quality used parts.

Yes you have to work with that clip a bit...talk to it nicely, it will come off. Yes there is a screw there. The other screw is on the front of the seat, very hard to see. Get a flash light.
Yes ebay and sometimes this site here sometimes has decent deals on the entire switch.

If you replace lands then this schematic is wonderful to help troubleshoot broken lands.
Thanks Bill!
