Default C5 digital readout issues.

Hi guys and girls, I'm new here and hopefully I am posting in the correct section.
I have a 99 C5 and last Tuesday the odometer readout decided to go missing.
Any DIC readout I go to only shows up briefly and then disappears, leaving the screen blank (black)
The readouts are quite bright when they display so I'm thinking it's not a power supply issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are no specific schematics for anything inside the IPC. We have schematics for the plugs/connectors that interface with it but, that's about it. That being said, and knowing long term trends on the C5, the VERY FIRST thing that I would do is check the actual voltage on the IPC FUSES when the problem is happening.

BACKGROUND: The C5 ignition switch is well known to have voltage output issues. The contacts inside get burnt and can cause a significant voltage drop across the points contact. One symptom is a flukey IPC.

SO, that's where I would start. Measure the voltage at the fuse test points on top of the fuse to chassis ground. You should see full battery voltage at each fuse test point. Make sure that you do the measurements when the issue is happening.

IGNITION SWITCH SCHEMATIC:

IPC:

Fuse 19 will be the one that is fed by the switch:

Thanks everyone for the advice posted .... Problem solved !
I got hold of a manual and found on pages 2-93 and 2-94
3 TRIP I pressed the button and the odometer readout appeared.
I can only assume that I had accidently pressed the button and cleared the screen. Doh !!!
