Default Power stearing problem solved

after removing the rack due to harmonic pully fail all back together could not get power stearing to work. Vacuum bled several times all new fluid it would work then just stop. Pulling hair out. No weard noises. Then i replaced ps pump all better now. Didnt have to blead it. Thank for your help. This was a problen i had about 2 mounts ago. Just got it done. Been too hot in florida to work outside. But its done now. Back to driving my vette.

I don't want to be a "wise azz", but I don't see how that was possible. As soon as you disconnected/reconnected the power steering lines, you introduced air into the system, which, in turn, had to be bled out. As soon as you removed the pump, and the pump reservoir, you introduced air into he system, which needed to be bled out.

After you changed the balancer, and reinstalled the rack, all you had to do was fill the pump reservoir, and with the front wheels still off the car, turn the steering wheel 3-4 times, lock to lock. That would have removed most, if not all, of the air from the system. After that, you check the fluid level in the reservoir, top off, if necessary, then start the engine, and do a "lock to lock" again, 3-4 times, and you should be good to go.............

Default Power stearing

I had a shop do the ballancer. They refilled my ps with atf. Drive home was ok. But next day 2 miles from home ps went out. So i bled the system with new ps fluid. It worked but wouldnt stop foaming. Dealer told me running it with air in it ruined the pump. Guess they will dammage the vaines in a minute or so if run in that condition. All i know is the pump fixed it. 60 bucks later. Im happy.

So the shop that replaced your balancer, ruined your p/s pump, and stuck YOU with replacing it??
