clicking sound from engine
what causes a clicking sound when my car starts up after sitting for a week or two?

Most likely, a couple of lifters have drained down, and it takes a few seconds for the oil pressure to build back up. On the other hand, LS lifters are somewhat noisy anyway....

Also, some LS1's have piston slap until they warm up. If the noise goes away as it warms up, no problem.

Although mine isn't always daily driven, I get more noise from the pistons, until it warms up, than I do from the lifters..........

I'm going to jump in an say aluminum engines all sound a little noisy....

Be sure to run 5W30, no higher than 10W30 oil. There are close tolerances in the engine, especially the lifters, so the 5W (or 10W for hot climates) are needed, especially at startup.

Also, these Fuel Injectors "click" a lot.. Kind of annoying, but normal

Yup, that too..........
I almost forgot........ the rocker arms do too, unless you've installed the Straub or CHE bushings, in place of the OE needle bearings.
