Default Gas Tanks

I have a question. My 99 didnt come with an owners manual. How far can you go on reserve fuel? Someone mentioned 2 tanks? Can someone give me the low down... Thanks!

Your car is equipped with 2 gas tanks (one on the left and one on the right directly behind the seats) and they both feed the engine at the same time, each tank holds approx 10 gallons for your 20 gallon total capacity

It doesn't say in the manual. I've personally gone about 27 miles (24 on the highway) with the "reserve fuel" warning on.

NOT FAR!!! Depends on how you drive it. Figure two gallons-worth to be safe. Also, there are several sources for C5 Owners Manuals in the vendor section.

PS: You are one fortunate 17 year old to own a C5 and a Porsche!

Not sure about the C5, but the C4 fuel pump uses the fuel for cooling. Running out can shorten the fuel pump life (or kill it). I would assume the C5 is the same. For that reason, be very careful about running out completely. Also, with the fuel gage problems that have been reported, I usually try to keep mine fairly full.
