erratic instrument readings
I'm new to the forum and not mechanically inclined so please forgive my ignorance.
I've owned my '02 C5 for 10 years and have had little go wrong with it. However just last night in a middle of an evening cruise my gauges starting going CRAZY! Everything from "check engine" to "reduced engine power". Gauges for Temp, battery and fuel completely shut down or went to max for a period of time.
I had the EBCM replaced 2 years ago, can anyone provide some direction please.
Thx

Very common issue.
Look for damaged female pins in the six pin connectors.
If that doesn't correct the issue, Check the passengers foot well for moisture.
You're thinking...

"What the hell is he talking about??" It wasn't raining.

When you run the AC it can cause condensation to leak in to the passengers foot well, (right on to the BCM) The BCM DOES NOT LIKE WATER!
There is a small rubber hose that attaches to the HVAC Fan Motor that allows COLD AIR to be piped into the fan motor to keep it cool.
That small hose can condensate if the humidity conditions are high. TRUST ME! Ive been there!
Bright sunny hot summers day. Car goes crazy. BCM is WET.
HOW the hell did that happen? The air box also has a drain on the fire wall. If that drain plugs up the air box condensate that usually drains on to the ground will now drain into your foot well!
Feel under the carpet and see if the jute insulation is damp. You can also feel the Jute underlayment under the carpet directly below the passengers seat. That is where any water/moisture will collect.
