Mn6 shift issue bad pilot bearing?
Hi all,
i just recently started having this issue with my 98. When I try to upshift it is very hard to get into gear. It downshifts great! So I went and bought a tick master cylinder and installed it. No change. Now my car sometimes when pulling out as soon as I start letting the clutch out it will start grinding. Is this a transmission issue or a bad pilot bearing?

Not likely a pilot bearing. The only pilot bearing failure mode I can think of that would give the symptoms you describe is if the bearing failed to the point that it was welding itself to the input shaft. Not likely...

Have you ever changed the transmission ATF Fluid??? When it gets contaminated, shifts become very difficult. Switch to the AMSOIL ATF for your MN6. GOOD STUFF!
Try this: Jack the rear wheels off the ground. E-Brake OFF. Start the engine, release the clutch in 1st gear. Depress the clutch. See if the wheels stop driving.
If they still rotate, can you easily stop both of them by hand.
If not, your clutch is not fully releasing and that will make shifting difficult.
Change that trans ATF and see if that makes an improvement!!
