Default Can you see anything missing?

I was doing some cleaning yesterday in the engine bay and had my coil pack bracket off. While putting it back on and tightening the bolt in the very back something metal fell down into the bottom of the engine bay. I have no idea what it was and wasn't missing any tools. Went for a drive afterwards and when going uphill I heard whatever it was fall out but I never could find it. From this pic can you guys see anything missing? Sounded metal and pretty light, like a clip of some sort. Whatever it was came from somewhere real close to that back bolt. Thanks guys

I see part of the PCV system missing from the rear of the drivers side valve cover. The large grommet on the top next to the rear coil.

The whole PCV system lines probably need to be replaced due to rot caused by all the oil that is sucked through it. I have had to replace three of these over the last couple of years for mine and friends cars.

Don't know year of your or the OP's car, and can't remember the details, but later years had a different PCV system. My 04 just has a plug where his is, only a bit different looking.

Ah ha! I was getting ready to suggest that. So now the question is how important is that clip?

keeps the fuel line from coming apart, important enough for the factory to use

It shouldn't come apart, as is, but that clip is a safety device, that should be in place.

Can someone send me a pic of what that paticular clip looks like? Or a link to where I could buy a replacement would be even better.

In your picture, there's one on the other end of the fuel line, where it connects to the fuel rail........

Right. I assumed it was the same but I didn't know for sure if it was identical to the fuel rail end.

I would suggest calling one of the used parts vendors here on the forum and seeing if they have a clip? You may have to get the entire braided fuel line though.

Maybe local Auto parts store? It is just a fuel line security clip, some time they have that, but I am not for sure, but won't hurt to check.

Agree... so perhaps try sourcing from somebody here on FS section parting cars. I'd travel back to the same road first though, now that you're aware of what you are missing.

No problem, other people on this forum have done similar random acts of kindness for me in the past, just paying it forward!
