Window control panel replacement questions
Question #1
The panel doesn't require programming, right? Dumb question, but I'm guessing the key talks to the cpu, and cpu tells the panel to open the door and which key is being used. Rolling eyes accepted for this question.

Question #2
The old panel apparently wasn't function at 100%. Key #1 option wasn't working (light out). Maybe a short in the panel. Could this trigger or cause the cpu to go bonkers. I mean every type of warning is trigger to include "reduce power, check engine light, radio turns off, gas gauge goes to empty, service now, service traction control...." I mean everything lights up. Can the old door panel switch trigger this issue? Dealership and a private repair service are stumped.

The answers to 1 and 2 depend upon which part you are referring to.
The crazy symptoms that you are experiencing have NOTHING to do with either of the parts I provided links to. They have ALL to do with the black connector shown in picture #5 at the following link:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-t...-there-is.html
The pins in this connector are easily deformed and one or more will look like the one in the referenced picture. There is an appearance of the serial data buss in the black connector and when the pins in the two halves of the connector do not make GOOD electrical contact they introduce noise on the serial data buss and that causes ALL the other sensors in the car, which are also connected to the serial data buss, to generate all sorts of crazy conditions.

You need to disconnect the battery before going into the black connector and reshaping the pins to make proper electrical contact. Besides the serial data buss that connector contains at least 2 other ALWAYS hot battery voltage leads that are easily shorted out if you fail to disconnect the battery.

It really sounds like you need to pull the codes and post them so we can address them individually, or collectively when it comes to things like bad grounds or low battery voltages.
If you've never pulled the codes before, 8VETTE7 will post up pretty quickly a tutorial on how it's done. Pretty easy and always revealing.
Good luck... GUSTO
