C5Z Brake Booster
Hey guys,
Looks like my brake booster is gone on my '04. Strange as I only have just over 21,000 miles on the car.
My symptoms are as follows:
-Very hard brake pedal, especially on downshifting/stopping hard. Once the revs jump up (say you're downshifting to make some noise) the brakes disappear and I really need to stand on them. Leads me to think there's some sort of vacuum problem.
I checked the vacuum coming from the motor and Im getting a solid 18 so hose/pressure all good there. Inspected brakes on all 4 corners and all seems fine. That basically leaves the booster.
With that said, Im wondering if anyone could share 2 things:
1) Does the Z06 have a specific part for it's booster or is it the same as any C5?
2) Where have you guys got your boosters from? There are all kinds of options on ebay, etc and I just want to be sure Im getting something reliable.

All C5 boosters are the same
What happens if you DISCONNECT the vacuum source all together and try to stop?? Does it change anything??
If you want a good used unit, contact VETTENUTS and speak to Marc. He has excellent salvage C5/C6 stuff.
