Default Memory seat/mirror delete?

What would be involved in deleting the memory seat and mirror option from a 2004 C5? My driver's seat and passenger's mirror are flaky (have bad potentiometers) and would need to be replaced/rebuilt in order to function correctly. The cost of a "memory" mirror motor is 2x the cost of a non-memory motor, and the seat motor is in good shape. I noticed that without memory, the driver's side window/mirror switch did not have a "1" and "2" on it. Can I just purchase this switch? What else would I need to delete/replace?

Note: DO NOT tell me I should just "fix it" because it will hurt the value of the car/you like the memory option/etc. I did not asking for your opinion.

Maybe you should ask for opinions.
Of course, that's just my opinion.

You might be able to do something similar with the seats?

I guess it depends is if your goal is to truly make your car like one that never had it -- or just disable it because it's not working right...

I read your writeup. I'd prefer to make the car like it never had it in the first place, but your solution is certainly an option. Thanks for posting it.

I just removed the power seat tracks and replaced with Z06 manual tracks. I was having the usual small power draw that was killing my battery. Also saved about 40pds with the conversion....those power tracks are heavy!
