I "bricked my ECM" in my 1998 corvette according to hp tuners after flashing a tune into the car, the car will spin over but it will not run, it has all kinds of lights coming on the dash now.. i didn't save the stock tune before I uploaded the other tune so I uploaded a stock tune from hp tuners and nothing has changed. Ican't find anyone with the same ECM or anyone that will rebuild my ECM. Is there any suggestion on how to fix my ECM that is currently in my car or is there anybody that will rebuild it or is there a good place to just order a new ECM from?
I have a 99 and when I installed a diablo tune to it, the car would not start afterwards, it would crank but no start. Spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with tech support and still no resolve, he told me something else is going on.
The car ran flawless before the tune.......
Turns out that the SOME early year vettes 98/99 were a little flakey when it came to loading tunes and you MUST disconnect the battery cable after installing the tune, wait ten minutes and reconnect.
This worked, now, every time I install a tune, the battery cable gets disconnected afterwards.
If you do end up needing a PCM then it will have to be flashed to your VIN. The C5 PCM came on a variety of GM vehicles.
I have an extra PCM I got from eBay that has the same part number but came out of a truck. It costed about $30. I had a tuner flash it to my VIN and tune.
My tune is just the way I like it and wanted a back up.
