Hello, I have a 2000 base coupe. The keyless entry system does not work and the key fob will not train. The DIC does go into fob training mode. I've owned the car since 2014 and it did not come with key fobs. I recently purchased a brand new one from GM. The car is in perfect condition and just sits, so the problem hasn't been a huge issue. I also have messages in the DIC for all 4 tires, air pressure is fine. I'm thinking it must have something to do with the RFA?, BCM, or wiring. I am a mechanic, but not familiar with this system. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. Any wiring diagrams would also be helpful. Thanks in advance, Dave.
There is a module that controls both...
You can buy a replacement OR upgrade to the 2001+ module
with new TPMS Sensors & new Key Fobs
The GM dealer on this site has a great deal on the kit..
I've just kept buying tpms sensors & a fob over time..
wish I would have just bit the bullet and upgraded to the new style years ago. It
would have been cheaper in the long run.
The FOB's for the 1997 - 2000 are different than the FOB for the 2001 - 2004 and they are NOT interchangeable.
Pull and post ALL the codes for your car. Include the H or C or HC that follow each 5 character code. List the codes under the sensor they show under. ie 10 - PCM or 28 - TCS or 40 - BCM ..... etc ........ If any sensor shows NO COMM next to it post that also.
If you have never pulled codes for your car here is how:
Pulled RFA codes u1255 and h2120. Also had some BCM codes 0432, 0508/03/0708. There were more, but I was in a hurry.
Are there schematics available online for this system? I ordered a reciever online, but I still would like electrical diagrams for this system. I also has an abs issue. I'stored this car too long I guess, lol!!! Thanks for any help! Dave
