Default Leaky butt

Since a year ago maybe two I replaced the OEM pcvalve with a fuel filter hose prototype. About 6 inches total length.
I have monitored this configuration with no issues until today.
Why am I puking out of the vent?
other than duh pressure.
This is normal Dailey driver 100 miles a week.
I smelled it on the exhaust tonight.
I had it on jack stands a month ago with no noted issues.

Looking at the photo now it looks like the filter has cracks in it.
It is definitely puking out of the end of the hose though.

I have checked the fluid and the level is good.
I attached a longer piece of tube and ran it to a bottle. I have less than 100 miles and up until yesterday the bottle has been clean with city driving but yesterday after a 30 mile round trip highway speeds this is what I have.

Perhaps you need a catch can.

I got a totally awesome new catch bottle.
I got about 1.5 table spoons from the first bottle.

I am still getting oil blown out of the vent.
I have taken the little filter off and running just a straight hose to the catch bottle this time.

My thinking is the little filter is creating just enough back pressure until it equalizes or overcomes that pressure and out blows the oil.

IDK.

More than last time within a month.

I had to add gear oil (maybe a half pint) to the unit this time. but i may not have been level in the front.

Not sure why you're getting so much blow by . I was just wondering, that "filter" looks more like a check valve..open when pressurized , closed with no pressure so nothing gets back in ?

It is just a simple fuel filter with a brass filter media.

Sounds like you're adding too much fluid. You keep refilling the diff, it blows out the tube when it gets hot enough, then you continue to refill it. Are you filling it till it drips out the fill hole? Is the car level?

Stop refilling and see if it continues to blow out.

I have only added fluid is this last time.
All other times the car has been level without needing to add fluid. This last time is the only time I added fliud and i may have been nose down unlevel by a degree or two.
