Default Exhaust question.

I have a Magnaflow catback system with factory H pipe. My C5 is a 99 coupe 6 speed with a stock motor. My only mod is a Breathless Vortex ram air system. My complaint with the Magnaflow system is the drone I experience in 6th gear. When I'm running 70 mph in 6th I'm turning 1500 RPM's. I can eliminate the drone by simply not using 6th gear. I believe at 70 mph in 5th I was turning about 2200 RPM's. I know I should have probably purchased the Corsa system based on reviews. Is there any solution to my problem short of changing the exhaust ? Thanks !

I think an X pipe would help a bit, but is definitely not a solution.
Running at 2200RPM isn't bad, but mileage would suffer if doing extended highway driving.

Thanks, I have considered an X pipe for quite some time. I just don't want to start throwing money out and not see improvement. The Magnaflow is a nice system with good fit and the tips line up and look nice. I have always hesitated on the X pipe because it requires cutting the stock H pipe. Wish I could find someone with this set up so I could see how they like it. I probably should have gone with the Corsa system but it was a lot more money and I'm retired watching my dollars.
