93Polo, I just read the instructions. Looks like a piece of cake. Can’t imagine someone would quote me 4 hours!!

I just realized that the instructions do not mention transfer of the end links to the new bar. I assume that’s done when the bar is off?

You should get new end links with the new bar. The old ones are plastic and get soft. New ones are metal and make the car more responsive.

I had done some research and they switched to aluminum from ‘02 on. I just checked mine, and they are metal.

My 02 had the metal ones also, after I put the C6Z51 bars in they still made a popping noise

Mine never made any noise. Should I be looking for something?

Mine made no noise till I changed the bars. If yours do it, it will be at slow speeds even on smooth roads

Cafe or straight up those bikes are valuable and still fun to ride today. I have a hardtail frame and a BSA engine that I can't work up any enthusiasm to pull together. Maybe if I "cafe" it the project might get off the ground.

Just take off where end link attaches to sway bar and if it makes a noise then you can always get new end links...my metal end links were still good so I didn't get new ones. Hope this helps

It did. Limited chances to drive since the ‘dropping of the brine’ but I heard nothing so far.

I think the only time the 6mm hex bit or allen wrench is used is to keep the balljoint type connection on the end link from rotating when tightening or breaking loose the nut which attaches the swaybar.
