Hey fellas,
Have a 99 Vert Auto all stock except for X pipe....
I am in the middle of my HB job, rack is almost ready to come out.
I purchased a flywheel lock tool and wanted to confirm that I could move the starter out of the way to install this and NOT to remove the exhaust manifold & cat?
If anyone needs to do this in the future, you do not have to touch the exhaust, just disconnect the terminals to the starter, unbolt the starter two screws and push it forward towards the front of the car.

Good to know...I'm looking at a HB replacement in my near future
After completing it this weekend, I did not have to even disconnect the terminals, carefully slide the starter just enough to get the tool in place.
Took some time and patience but went well.
I am waiting on the two power steering O rings to come in today, then I will fire it up.
If I was to do this job again, I would definitely have pinned the crank.
The HB puller & installer that Summit Racing sells is top quality and highly recommend.
Yes stock, do you know if there is room to push the starter forward just enough to get the tool to fit in where the starter bolts go?
Yes, there is. I did this job a couple of years back, and also used the Kent-Moore flywheel locking tool. I didn't have to drop the exhaust pipes, but I don't remember if I removed the wires to the starter or not....
