took out the aftermarket radio and am trying to install an original in my 97. I spliced in the electric connector that includes the speakers. I have voltage at the always on yellow wire and the red ignition wire. all I can get to work is hitting the recall button and getting the clock to come on. there are 2 additional electric connection ports on the radio with nothing plugged in, what are they for and do I need them?
Maybe a picture or two would be helpful. I'm having a hard time trying to decipher what you're getting at. Do you have the Bose unit to install ?
here is a pic of the rear of the radio, I have the elect connector for the port on the left, it includes the speaker connections, and power, ignition, ground wires, but what plugs into the 2 plugs on right, optional cd changer?

Let me look in the Service manual. Is that a Bose Unit ?

The head-unit has 4 connectors in the back:
C1 / C2 (which is a single siamese connector) - power, ground, BCM data, front and rear speakers
C3 - power amp inputs
C4 - pre-amp outputs
Yes, all 4 connectors need to be plugged in for the headunit to work as intended.
