Replace all electrical harness to fix electrical problems
I've owned a 99 base model for a few years now and since day one it's had electrical issues. I've solved several, still have several. (occasional no start (B2721), ABS/TC no comm, Active suspension no comm, and about 30 other DIC codes.)
I was thinking about buying the entire electrical system of a 2001 and up car and swapping it in. This would include all major harnesses and all modules that are not replaceable. Does anyone have any insight on whether this would be a matter of just the harness or it'll be literally every component? I already have a 2001 EBCM on the car.
And before you start making suggestions on replacing battery, clean grounds, clean key, etc, I've done all of those many times. This is a last resort before I just bite the bullet and sell the car.
Thanks in advance
When I was looking to buy my vert last summer there was no shortage of C5's out there.
I'm no Corvette mechanic but from reading this and other forums the electrical issues on the earlier C5's would run me away.
Do what you want. I do!
Good luck!
I'm no stranger to working on this thing though, have built an engine for it and have gone through a big portion of the car. Just wanna know if anyone has done anything like this and if I'd need to change literally everything or i can use the harness with most of my modules.
