Default Hawk Brake Pads-Which Ones?!

I can get Hawk pads wholesale, so I'm taking a hard look at them.

For just normal street performance, which Hawk pads?

Hawk HPS
Hawk HPS Race
Hawk HPS 5.0
Hawk....something else

I run the HPS - the HPS+ was way to dusty for street use in my opinion...40 mi daily round trip and clean wheels every 2 days.....

I ran the HPS pads on my '00 - I had absolutely no complaints about them.

The Hawk HPS pads are excellent for normal street use. Low dusting, good stopping power and priced well.

I just bought Powerstop Extreme Z26 pads for mine, love them. Almost zero dust and good stopping power.

I have used the Hawk HPS pads on several vehicles and always liked how well they worked on the street and their relatively low dust level. They are not as clean as some of the ceramics, but they have a much better initial bite characteristic and are fairly consistent in repeated heavy braking situations compared to the cleaner ceramics. I would not use the HPS pads to autocross with nor if you do track day events, but for normal to "spirited" street use the hawk HPS pads are very good.

Do not run the HP Plus pads on the street - they are noisy and very dusty, but make a good autocross and very light duty rear track pad.
