Default Starter problems

The starter in my 2001 Coupe just crapped out for the second time. Car has 16,000 miles and it needs another starter. Am I just having bad luck, or has anyone else have problems with the starters? Addiontally, will long tube headers have any adverse effect on the starter or starter solinoid? I've got long tube headers on the car and am wondering if the additional heat may have something to do with it.

Are your headers coated  , if not you may need a heat shield or you may need to get coated headers because heat will definately ruin a good starter

This has been a problem on Chevies since forever, headers invariably heat up the starter and solenoid. Every chevy I ever installed headers on, ended up with a remote located (Ford) solenoid.....
