Innacurate Voltage on DIC
I know that the mpg reading is out by about 1 mpg but yesterday I got frightened by the voltage reading before I started the engine. The voltage reads 11.4 when it's been sitting overnight. I thought a cell had gone bad, but as it's an AGM battery of the type that should be reliable I thought it was a bit odd. So I got out my old analogue multimeter this morning and found the battery was at a bit over 12.2V. I'll see if I can get a properly calibrated DVM from work tomorrow and see what that reads.
Anyway, what gives ? I'd have thought it would be quite easy to put an accurate voltmeter in the car... or is it just another one of those features and 'they all do that sir' !

Did you measure the battery voltage at the same time the DIC was indicating a voltage. The Vet draws about 8 Amps when the DIC is on.

The DIC doesn't provide voltage at the battery since it measures the voltage downstream. The DIC is designed to provide voltage across the alternator. That accounts for the discrepancy.
