APP sensor obsolete part alternative?

APP sensor obsolete part alternative?
Evening,
New owner of a 2000 C5 in excellent condition except for one thing. The APP sensor is occasionally going out and i cant find a replacement. My local Chevy dealer told me they are obsolete and the local auto parts stores do not have the correct ones. The ones the do have have the key channel on the wrong side and, online sales have been negative found one but it didn't work at all So my question is thus, does any one know if the part number and if there is a similar part that will work? Does anyone even carry these anymore?

Funny, I have the same exact issue today. I think the answer is: nope. Not sure though.
I am probably going to try to find one used. Part number is 12565643 and of bloody course they don't sell the sensor separate from the pedal assembly. Nor does there appear to be a dorman or any other aftermarket part.
I just bought one off ebay today. Hope it works. Wish the electronics in the sensor were user-serviceable so I could at least clean them up, maybe reflow them. So it goes.

you can find most anything on Ebay..don't overpay.....they have them on there for stupid high prices....
