Non adjustable rocker can be cranked down tell the bolt breaks and will not change the height of the rocker arm.Originally Posted by mowpow

I think I added .60 preload but I am opening the covers and rechecking everything today. I think I really need to be at .30.
Got the valve covers off and found some interesting things. The pushrods I went with are 3/8 @ 7.550. So we took a 5/16 pushrod length checker and it came out to 7.525 so with a .30 preload it would be 7.555 which matches my 3/8's. I starting to wonder if the 3/8's aren't seating in the lifters? Going to check length again tonight to double check the number. Anyone use a 3/8 pushrod in a Lunati street hydraulic lifter?

You sure the lifters aren't collapsing and giving a false reading? 7.550 seems really excessive. Are you using solid lifters to check PR length?
I used solid lifters when the engine was out and I was checking PS length. The lifters are hydraulic but I let them sit overnight to allow them to decompress. I will check each valve for the reading as surely one of them is not compressed.
Well you guys nailed it, I made double sure the cam is on the base and it's measuring out 7.36 so I'm taking it to 7.4" for .04 preload. I'm also switching to 5/16 pushrods after talking with Lunati. Fired the engine up tonight and it sounded a little noisy but heck the engine is very loud compared to the stock LS1 so I'll put a couple miles on it (gently) and pull the covers and see what's up.
I was also getting P0343 CPS so I switched the outside wires and the code is gone so thank you very much for that tip as well!
Thanks for all the help getting me here. It's been a long road and still plenty to do but it's rewarding for sure!
