Default LS2 throttle body on LS1 Vette p1516 REP problem

Hey guys,

I have a 2002 C5 base with a Dorman LS6 90mm intake manifold. I purchased a LS2 throttle body along with the LS2-LS1 throttle body adapter from Caspers. I'm throwing the Reduced Engine Power p1515 p1516 code and I was wondering, do I have the wrong throttle body? It is a LS2 TB but it has a GOLD throttle body blade. Do I have the wrong blade color? Do I need a SILVER throttle body blade?

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks!

-Brian

Yes, you need the silver blade LS2 throttle body. The gold one will cause nothing but problems just like you are having. Will need some tuning also after making the swap.

I Don’t get it though. Look here’s a picture of my TB
My throttle body blade opens upwards which is what he silver blade does too. That’s the only reason for the silver blade. The only thing different is the color which idk how that would magically make everything work. So what gives?

also so I already have a full dyno tune and he said it’s either throttle body or Casper’s wire harness

You have an LS3 throttle body the LS2 number is 12570790. I have seen results from re-pinning the LS3 body that looked promising.

What do do you mean by repinning? Like rewiring? If so where? Do you have a thread?

This may be the thread you're thinking of. I don't recall but don't think it was entirely conclusive.

It would be great if those LS3 TB's worked on C5's because they're cheaper and easier to find. Oh well. At least the LS2 is easily swappable.
