Looking for your thoughts on intermittent issue my c5 developed last fall. Randomly when depressing clutch pedal it won't release fully maybe releases 3/4 of the way. Can't shift basically gotta limp home I need 2nd or 3rd and when at stop lights can feel it tugging and hogging engine down. Then all of a sudden will be Ok for a little bit and clutch will work. When I start car after sitting clutch seems fine for few miles.
I even this a master, slave, or clutch issue? Curious on everyone's thoughts
Don't see any fluid under and reservoir still full
I had the same problems and had the Master replaced (easier and cheaper). The problem continued and they installed another Master and that solved the problem. If it had been the slave it would have taken all day and cost $2500. Jim
can you lift up the pedal with your toe when it sticks? As others have said, the general consensus will be to replace the MC first as that is DEFINITELY cheaper than doing the slave. And, if it is the slave it is probably best to just swap out the MC anyways since you are that far into things-might as well hit it all. (I had the same thing happen with the pedal intermittently sticking to the floor, but when I started to flush out the clutch fluid yet again I was left with a nice puddle of fluid under the bellhousing so I knew it was the stupid slave cylinder ) I am hoping for you that it is just the MC for sure, but if not, then it is probably the slave. Do a google search of "sticking clutch pedal c5 corvette" and by the time you are done reading everything your car will be a few years older Good luck and hoping for a doa'd MC for u!

Pedal doesn't stick always comes back up but with it fully pressed down it's like the clutch is still engaged
If it not leaking hydraulic fluid from a blown out slave then I'm strongly leaning towards master.
As a note, always spend the extra $ for a real GM master cylinder. We've had more issues out of aftermarket masters. Not worth a little savings to dick around.
I agree with the others about swapping out the master cylinder (MC). Since you don't appear to be losing fluid, you likely have an internal leak at the piston inside the MC. Swapping stock for stock is pretty straight forward. Installing a TICK MC is a little more complicated as it requires removal of the pedals and some drilling. There are other aftermarket MCs too. If keeping everything stock, recommend genuine OEM replacement.
Car has an aftermarket clutch, do I get an oem master or the tick. What's the pros/cons
If you liked the way the OEM felt, stick with the OEM. If you want an adjustable pedal height, you will need an aftermarket MC.
I personally went to a TICK MC on my stock Z06 because I wanted to shorten the pedal height and travel. The downside is pedal effort went up a very noticeable amount due to a larger diameter piston in the MC. I don't mind it but others who have driven my car have given it mixed reviews. It definitely takes some getting used to.
