I recently picked up a C5 convertible and I'm having trouble getting FOBs to program. I've cleared all the diagnostic codes and have went through the programming procedure multiple times and I can't get any FOB to link up with the car. I get to the part where it tells me to press lock and unlock and I do, holding it for way more than 20 secs but nothing happens. I've check all the batteries in the FOBs with a voltage meter and all are good. One of the FOBs came with the car and the other two I picked up off of ebay after watching a youtube video showing a guy program his. At this point I'm out of ideas. Anybody got anything else I can try. Voltage on the car battery was 12.3v. I did get the car out and drove it and then tried the procedure again but still nothing.
Are you getting the FOB TRAINING message? If this message is not displaying, you may have a problem with the BCM not being configured with the correct RPO codes. If this is the case, you will need someone with a TECH II to reprogram the BCM.
Good luck!
Yes I'm getting the FOB training message @ Route99. I've read the procedure and have followed it to the letter @rockit1.
@8VETTE7, It's a 2000. So that could possibly be a problem if I got the wrong FOBs off of ebay (even though the listing said they were for my year but we all know how that goes). I have one that came with the car as well and it's not programming either. Maybe its toast and the ebay ones aren't correct. Is there a way to tell the difference?
I'll check out the solder link and see if the one that came with the car is bad and report back.
