column lock recall for 97?

column lock recall for 97?
Does anybody know why the column lock recall does not include the 97?
Im tired of shaking my wheel to free up lock.
The bypass I installed did not work , could not clear up codes.
Is there any way to mechanically eliminate the lock?

The TSB I have says that all 97's are included. I've had my 97 done under the GMPP warranty with no issues.

When you guys say "recall" do you mean that there's actually a recall or just a fix for those of you who are under warranty?
I bought a 98 and I don't have a warranty and I'm wondering if this is something that I should be concerned with. I know it's not already bypassed because I can hear it.
