Here's a shout out to all the track rats on this forum. I'm in the process of buying a 2000 FRC that I'm going to use as a dedicated track day car. It's already got most of the performance mods done to it, but it has the stock oil pan. I know starvation is an issue for these cars under hard cornering. What are the suggestions for upgrading the oil pan to prevent this? Look forward to hearing from you!
Tom
If your not running slicks you'll probably (but I want to say never) have an issue. Accusump +oil cooler+improved racing trap door+high pressure oil pump =best economical choice. Run 400 tread wares for sneakers and forget the above!
How likely is oil starvation with 200tw tires and no oiling mods other than a catch can? The track I'll be at (The Ridge, in WA) has a long, flat, 180-degree left.
Thanks!
P.S. This is not my first track car, just my first Corvette.
Not all 200tw tires are created equal. There is no standard for measuring. Manufacturers can make up whatever number they want.
Your situation sounds a bit scary. The tracks I go to don't have long left hand turns. I would log the pressure and watch it in the DIC. With an extra qt of oil. Wait and see or get a baffle kit and have the oil analyzed by blackstone. as precautions. only the paranoid survive.
