Default Heat issues, turning cold

Hey guys, I am having issue with my heat. So I'll have my heat on and then out of nowhere it switches to cold/lukewarm air and the only way to fix it is turn the dial to cold and then back to hot. Then it stays hot until it decides to go cold again.

I was searching and reading on here and came across the blend door actuator? Would this be my issue?

I have a '99 manual with just the single hvac system.

The blend door could be an issue or maybe a bad HVAC controller. Hopefully others will chime in.

Prior to digging into the blend doors or other, check your coolant levels. Low coolant or an air pocket can give you weird symptoms too. Any chance you recently flushed the radiator? Just want to rule out a more serious problem.

You may have a slow vacuum leak.

I will check the coolant level. It's been sitting for 2 weeks so maybe. And ya I though potential vacuum leak too. How do you check for a vacuum leak?

Can anybody else chime in on this? I'm still having this issue and now the temperature is flopping both ways. A/C will turn hot and heat will turn cold. Best way to fix this temporarily is switch the temp control to the opposite temperature and back. Is this a blend door actuator issue? Or something else?
Thanks
