I am in the middle of doing my cyl heads on the procharged corvette.
I believe stock gasket is .052" compressed. I want same thickness/bore size as stock. I see couple options as to headgasket choice. cosmetic. mls ect.
I have attached 2 links, pretty much same specs, I am picking up arp headbolts so I want good quality headgasket.
I have heard mixed reviews on the LS9 headgasket.
Couple .100 thou bigger bore size also. Which probably be ok but not sure would prefer tighter bore clearence.
However heard best for boost.
Ya I am running 12psi give or take and see everyone loves the Ls9 for its durability to handle boost. GM MLS gasket you are reffering to the part#12589226?? I heard this gasket used in 10psi supercharged setups with no issues. I mean probably both be good but I want the best since I dont want to do this job anytime soon! Hoping some more people will give some more feedback from there personal experiences with these gaskets.
Here are the head gaskets for the LS1/6 engines. Using a head gasket for the 4.000" or larger bore engines is not truly recommended on the smaller bore LS1/6 engines;
I ran 23ish lbs of boost with mls gaskets for years once I started running 30lbs boost they started pissing coolant and still ran it this way gr8 a few yrs. Changed to ls9 and so far hold good.
