Re: Do All Corsa Exhaust Systems Leak? (Dick Kriss)
Mine have not moved but they do leak and I was told they all leak some. One picture is worth 10K words
That picture appears to show a flat spot similar to what one would get using a hammer to aid in the installation. If so, it would hamper the sealing of the two pipes increasing any leakage. Now I am curious, and will have to look at mind to see if I have similar leakage. I do have over 32K miles on my Corsa's...

I watched the guy that installed the system and don't recall him using a hammer. I was just told they all leak some. I had the car at the dealer this week to fix he ABS failure in the left front wheel and asked them to move the clamp. I think they forgot. I will be going back for an oil change soon and will ask them to move the clamp at that time. It is too hard to do anything with hand tools - air tools are needed.

uuh...just curious, why would need you need to use "air tools ?
I tried and could not move the bolts on the clamps. The guy that did the install said he set the touque as Corsa recommended did not want to apply more in fear of twisting off the nuts.
Re: Do All Corsa Exhaust Systems Leak? (LIGHTNING)
I have changed my exhaust numerous times....Have had Corsa Touring and Pace....41k miles on my 2000 and no trouble at all....the only problem I had was that there instructions provided with exhaust had wrong torque specs...I called them and they fixed em.....I think it was for the hangers in the back...originally it called for I believe 40 lbs which was way too much for a hanger bolt....should be 17lbs I THINK its been a while!!!
I will be installing my pace on a 99 I just bought....Only thing I can recommend is using new gaskets and if necessary a rubber mallet..no hammers!!!
Mine leak at the clamps. The problem is with their "torca" clamps. I have black soot at where the clamps are located. Not sure if all of them do it, but no matter how tight I make the clamps, it doesn't help.

Thanks for coming out of the closet and posting. I was getting to think I had the only set of Corsas that leaked - even after Godzilla tightend the clamps

Same here. The system itself is tight and doesn't move, but I get a small amount of the sootiness too.

BLUBYU2002C5 I would like to hear your car some day. I'm looking to get new exhaust next year and just haven't been able to hear anything as of yet. And I live in Crete, IL. I probably even have waived to you.
I don't have Corsa but my Tri-Flow's do the same thing. Black soot at and around all the joints. I think the problem is with torca clamps. I have tightened to point of stripping the threads and everywhere in between and no help. The right muffler give me the most trouble, can't keep it streight and level.
In the pic the soot is all over the rear carrage assembly several inches away, just like mine. That tells me its being blown there by leaking exhaust. I have thought about using the a ubolt type clamp but that make the exhaust harder to get apart come mod time. Same thing with welding.
