Default Headlight bolt

One night, I pulled into the driveway for the night and turned my headlights off, only to hear a *crack* from the passenger headlight on the way down. Upon inspection, it seems that a bolt that attached the motor to the headlight itself had snapped. What kind of bolt do i need to fix it, and what’s an easy way to get to it? Thanks in advance!

its easy to get to if you just remove the headlight cover (torx screws)
my advice is to see what the driver side bolt looks like and maybe you can get another similar one at the hardware store.....or hope to get lucky with someone who may have one from a part out

but...pics would help us help you

Thats.... not factory.

Whatever is holding up the pivot arm on the driver's side was likely the same on the passenger side, and either that worked itself loose or was stressed to the point of collapsing. I don't have a picture of it immediately but if memory serves me right the last time I serviced my headlight motor it is a combination bolt w/ lock style nut that when torqued hold the pivot arm in place.

If you didn't install that, my immediate assumption would be at some point someone serviced the headlights - likely the motors - did not follow proper procedure for removing them, lost the original hardware, and subsequently had to improvise. If you leave the housings on the chassis you're only supposed to loosen the lower pivot arm from it's mount on the motor and then remove the three hold bolts holding the motor. This allows the pivot arm to move properly while pulling the headlight motor.

I don't know if you're going to find those parts new as I believe they were originally supplied as part of the headlight "chassis" assembly. You may check with a Corvette salvager or recycler.
