I'm wondering, is there a code for overeving a c5? I read in some posts that there was a code for if you revved over 7400 for over a second. I couldnt find anything else about this. The reason I ask is because when I first got the car I got a little too excited on the 2nd to 3rd shift and stuffed it in first. I quickly took it out of gear but I was shocked and horrified at what I had done. :cry Its acted fine ever since, no knocking or anything thank GOD... Anyway, any input is appreciated.
Also, I got a VaraRam installed awhile back and havent gotten the car tuned yet. Would it throw any codes if it were running too lean or if the LIFTs were f'd up etc etc. Thx.
That didnt help me though in my situation, unfortunately my rev limiter isnt quite advanced enough to keep the engine from mechanically revving to 8 grand when my dumb butt uncerimoniously crams the shifter into first at 70 mph redlined.
:(
This will not throw a code. If you didn't break something then and there, you're OK (and probably lucky). I did the same thing from fourth to third (instead of fifth) at about 130, and was lucky I only had a broken valve spring and two bent valves. Actually I'm lucky I didn't spin off the track.
