Default Check engine light and codes

2004 Z06, 42k miles. Coming out of winter hibernation the check engine light came on. Borrowed NAPA's code reader, and it threw P1516, P2108, U0107. After reset CEL was off, but within a mile TC light came on, and console displays Service Active Handling. Seems consistent now through restarts running errands. Dings when I shut the car off. This is a dry climate where things dry rot. I'm thinking wiring harness or sensor problem right? The TC on/off button still seems to work. I get a console message confirming on/off, but TC light is constantly on either way.

P1516 and P2108 are both Throttle Actuator Control codes.

U0107 is Lost communication with throttle actuator control.

Not sure I can give advice on what it might be but that is what the codes are. You know you don't need to borrow a code reader to pull the codes from your car. You use the DTC right on the dash and it will flash them to you. Maybe first thing would be to check fuses and go from there.

Pull the codes using the dic in the car. There are a bunch of things that would cause that. Write them down then clear them and go for a ride. Pull the codes again before you shut off the car. Post them here. Those will be the ones to be concerned with.

Hmmm. Thorttle actuator control? I've driven sticks my whole life since my dad taught me at 13, and I'm 61. Haven't killed an engine since the first couple of times at 13. Yet today the first time I engaged 1st gear at neighborhood speeds it died on me. Coincidence? I'm thinking maybe not.

Yes, but that's another variable. I replaced the battery yesterday.
