im getting the CEL p1416 so I’m going to do the relocation to hopefully fix the problem. Only thing is I can’t figure out what the metal drivers side pipe is called so I can’t find one to use as the replacement for the passenger side.
Anyone know now what to call it or where to find it?

it's only real purpose is to reduce emissions, you will notice no difference in performance if you remove it but it does save a bit of weight and you won't have to worry about any parts failing... you will need block off plates for your manifolds and then have someone remove the codes that way you don't get a cel and still pass state inspection... aside from that you just remove all of the pipes and the air pump under the driver side headlight, it's really easy... mine has been gone for years
You can remove it.. If you don't have to pass emissions.
You would need to plug it up at the exhaust., Then have it tuned out in the
PCM so it wouldn't set a code and wouldn't run the electric air pump..
It's purpose is to introduce fresh air into the exhaust at start up to get the
cats to "light off" and heat up quicker, therefore reducing emissions
I do have emissions here. Now I have a year to have it done so I can go get some headers Installed. A tune and get rid of it so I can make it all emissions

if your state only uses the obd2 port then you can make it pass emissions no problem, the sniffer I'm not totally sure about... I guess technically it could fail a visual inspection, in some states if the car was originally equipped with it then it must be present... on the other hand most inspectors wouldn't even notice if it was missing and they would have to be aware that it was there to begin with... most places won't even bother to check that in my experience, as long as it passes the obd2 test and all your safety items are good then you should be fine

I did this relocation...used the "youtube" video. It is perfect. Don't know what they call the metal pipe is called BUT, you don't need a new one, just flip over the one you are using now.
Now the check valve is near the spark plugs and easy to get at.:thum
