Default Can anyone ID this Short Throw?

A local guy put this shifter on CL - He doesn't know anything about it. Can anyone here ID it? Is it any good? Or should I just hunt for a C6 Z OEM one?
I PM'd a guy here that has a Breathless Racing Shifter as well - haven't heard back from him yet
Thanks all...

Not sure what that one is, but I tried a Hurst and then the C6. Hands down, the C6 is a much nicer quieter drive IMO.

I don't know what it is but I bought a 1999 with a short-throw shifter that looks exactly like the picture. It wasinstalled before previous owner bought it and he didn't know what it was. I don't like it and will either put the original back in or buy something else. You really have to make an effort to get it into 6th.

My goal with my 03Z is to get ALL THE PARTS I need to mod it before I actually begin. I'm OK with some used stuff. A Short Throw is on 'the list'. I have a street rod project that is SOOO close to done that I HAVE to stay focused.
But...
I live in Central PA - Mother Nature has been a Biotch here. 45* this morning - 75* at 4PM today - REALLY?!
Got to drive my new toy after work and ... LOVE IT!! - the F'n thing is a Slot Car ;+)
it is gonna be very difficult to keep focus on the Street Rod while having the C5Z staring at me in the DoJo. But That's Hot Rodding, Right?

That picture you posted looks like a Hurst. For 150 that's not so bad. I'd try to at least find a RSD Snap Shifter for the same price. It's a modified C6Z06 shifter with a RSD lower box.

Thanks for all the input
So... If it were Y O U would you buy it or a Breathless unit?
If I miss it I'm sure something else will show up. I'm VERY OK with buying some used parts to pull this off and I'm not in a hurry (good for me). I've finally got old enough to understand temptation vs need.

The throws will be shorter BUT it will be a lot notchier with a lot more effort. Good for drag racing. If you ever get on a road course you would probably prefer the stock shifter.

Hmmm. Interesting.
The stock shift handle is kinda tall and slightly uncomfortable. I'll have to give this a little more think.

A Hurst is really a love/hate thing. For the price it would be worth picking it up. It doesn't take long to install and if you don't like it you can go back to your stock shifter and likely not lose any money reselling the Hurst.

Believe it or not, the best "Short Shifter" I had was my stock shifter removed and taken apart and cut down 2 or 3 inches. Reassembled. Reinstalled. That, and adding a copper washer where the shift detent ball is on on the transmission.

Everything else was too knotchy.

I have pics if interested.

Can't speak for everyone, but imagine I'm not the only one who would think that would be a very deserving thread of its own.

Or you could just get an MGW, do 1 washer anti venom and be done.

I went from a modified C6 Z06 shifter (which I liked) to a MGW (which I love) myself. For the price I dont think you can beat it for the money they go for used. If the OP could find one locally I would go for that instead of the Hurst any day.
