Default tick performance

Im sure this subject has been covered although not recently but my 01z needs the trans gone through and i have been seriously considering Tick Performance. Any experiences as to why I shouldnt?? If it matters car has 90k with original clutch and NO reverse. Will be installing ls7 clutch and Tick master cylinder. Thanks in advance

Pedal effort will increase. If that doesn't concern you, go for it. I have the same setup and like it.

It's not needed if your trying to resolve the Clutch pedal return issue. All you need is a better pressure plate and clutch, I'm running a stock Slave and Master cylinder and an RST Twin Disk Clutch on my 2000 FRC and have not had a single issue now in 2 years of hard driving.

I had the issues with the clutch pedal not returning real bad with the LS7 and LS6 clutchs and stock master and slave cylinders, changes to the RST clutch and all my clutch issues vanished.

You will have to setup the Tick for proper travel and make some other minor changes that are time consuming and unneeded. Just get yourself a good replacement clutch and pressure plate like a Monster or so on, the LS Clutches are crap.

I'd go with an aftermarket clutch if it were my car, the ls7 clutch is plagued with the same issues as the ls1/6 clutch

No issues with clutch pedal returning but mostly concerned with others experiences with Tick performance

I just had them rebuild my trans on my 98. I also bought the master cylinder kit and monster clutch from them and did those while I was at it.

For the transmission rebuild, everything was rather easy and went pretty well. When I shipped it out they were still going with the "put it in a big 45/50 gallon Sterilite tub". But I think they changed that now to go with a pallet and ratchet straps, which might be a better way to do it, the BIG downside is now its harder (and more expensive) to get it delivered to your house or business. The free shipping is only out of a freight terminal I think.
After I sent it in they were silent for a while until they called me something like 9 business days later. I think they say 10 business day turnaround and I think mine took close to 15, but it was around the holidays and snow storms so that might have been a factor (I'm not including the holidays as business days, in total they had my transmission for close to a month IIRC) but they never contacted me about any delays. I didn't mind it too much as it gave me time to do the clutch, master and torque tube as well as some other small things I needed to get around to.

The actual rebuild is pretty quality I think and in my opinion worth it. I had them degrease, replace the bearings and replace the 3/4 shift fork with steel and the thing shifts like butter now. Honestly, if I had to do it again, I'd still send it to them. I'm more than happy with the way it shifts now.

As for the clutch, IMO go with the Monster clutch over the generic LS7. My buddy did the LS7 and I went for the monster and I like the way mine feels. Granted I have the tick master and he doesn't so that might be a factor. Just my 2 cents.
