Hey everyone,
This is actually my second real post, but I have been reading the forums for awhile now. I am hoping to buy a c5 beginning to mid next year. However I am also setting aside mod money as well! :D Now, taking these following issues into account, please give me your thoughts on mods I should make.
1) Around 400ish hp
2) Longevity - something that will last - I dont want to be worrying about my vette blowing up
3) Proven - I dont want to be the guinea pig on any new FI kit
4) Not too too expensive - Maybe a h/c pckg, LPE s/c, I am thinking something in that area.
Basically, I am asking all of you that have spent the money and always say, "If I could go back and do it all over again. . . " because I know I have said that numerous times! :yesnod:
2nd...seeing as you're in Tampa, you have good company, check out the Misfits events and check out the SE section to see all the happenings locally and we'd love to have you join us, anytime :D
and lastly.....at least this will bump the post up so others might chime in on the specific questions :D
Welcome to the Forum. :) To answer your question, I would have the H&C installed on your car with computer tuning and call it quits. If you have more money to spend on the car after that there is a whole lot you can do if you like.
:seeya , welcome to the forum. Heads, cam, intake, and exhaust should wake your future Vette up nicely. Then be prepared to buy tires, lots of them!
Thank you guys for your input! I have wanted a SS camaro since I was 16, now with the demise of the camaro, I thought I would look for a '98, '99, or '00 C5. Back in April, I bought my wife an '02 Mustang GT vert., and although nice, it lacks the punch that the ls1's have. I raced a completely stock 4th gen z28 and got wasted. :( So I figure if I am going to have to sacrifice and buy a used SS, I might as well get a used vette for what I was planning on spending on a new camaro. Again, thank you for your input! You guys are great!!
welcome to the world of modifying Corvettes!!
I agree with the others, keep it simple, a H/C pkg, air intake, and exhaust will make you very happy! and you can always do more later.
