Installing a new GMS intake and MAF. Does anybody know anything about this "fuel/vacuum line recurve" I think it's supposed to correct for a too lean condition from an aftermarket low restriction intake.
Is this a necessary item? Who sells them?
Thanks
Mark
Yes, I have it on my 97. I believe it's only neccessary on the 97 & 98. After that they changed the fuel pressure regulator so that it doesn't have a vacuum line on the front / back end.
As I understand it, what happens when you replace or modify the factory air filter or lid, you reduce the vacuum between the filter and the throttle body. The recurve kit moves the vacuum take off to the back side / manifold side of the throttle body.
Just seat of the pants but, I think I could feel a difference after installing it.
It's a waste of money IMO. The '97 vettes already come from the factory running rich, also you're installing a new MAF which should be recalibrated to increase your injectors pulse width.......which equal more fuel.

I agree. It seemed to help my car after the above changes plus ported throttle body. The second response is correct if in fact you are getting a MAF translator where you can adjust fuel -- that is not how I read your post but maybe that is what it says.
