Default Power question

There is a guy at school that has an 02 auto coupe. He just put on a Corsa touring exhaust with a hypertech and he dynoed at 314 to the wheels. Does that sound right? He said the exhuast added about 8 he said. I didn't think the hypertech did that much power. If a stock C5 6 speed dyno's at 288 (give or take about 5. This is 360-20%) then the exhaust and chip added 26 hp. That sounds high. He didn't show me the numbers and he says the only thing he has done is just the exhaust and chip. He keeps wanting to race me but I'm always in my truck when I see him.

without a base-line dyno, it's tough to make that call :)

I'm putting down 326rwhp/325rwtq with an intake/exhaust/MAFT/PLII...this is an 2000 A4/3.15 gears

Chips are not interchangable on a C5 because they dont have any to begin with. I have not seen any gains from a Corsa indy or touring exhaust system. If ha gained any power it would have been from an Air box or something like that. The stock 6 speed should dyno at 306 or better.

Sounds high to me.

I have Donaldson and Corsa Daytona's and put down 289rwhp/296rwtq

Don't see how programming could have given him 24rwhp gain........but then again, I could be wrong!

Interesting. Blackwing and Corsa Exhaust for me, no tuning. 310 RWHP on the dyno at LG Motorsports in Dallas.

There isn't a Hypertech programmer for '02....or even '01 yet

Hmmm. I know he has a vette though. Seen him driving it. Hell, he followed me home one day and I didn't even know who he was. I'll ask the year again and see what he says. Thanks for telling me that. I'll also ask for the dyno.

depends on the dyno. Some are more forgiving when it comes to number. Often people will not calibrate the dyno for altitude, from my experience. I have had my car dynoed several times, all numbers come up different on different dynos.

According to hypertech they do not have one available. Of course you can have them custom make you one, or better yet he most likely got the programmer with his super charger. If he has a p1sc kit it comes with one.
