Default Coolant Fill Procedure

Read a few posts on this and wanted to get opinions. I am replacing my radiator. Some of the posts say to point the nose up when draining and filling the radiator. Others say to keep level. What is the correct way. Should I point the nose upward (lift front) when draining and filling or do it all on a level surface. I understand tat lifting the front helps with air in thee system. I know final top off should be on a level surface. Thoughts are appreciated.

Default Coolant Fill

In the procedure above. It says that after the first cycle to remove surge cap again, idle replace then rev. This is done 3 times. My question is that after the first cycle do you remove the surge cap with engine hot or let cool down. I fear removing cap will blow antifreeze everywhere even after releasing pressure.

If you buy or borrow a vacuum fill tool, you wont have to worry about any air trapped in the system.

You do not let it cool down in between heat cycles. Just open the cap very slowly to vent pressure and you'll be fine - no coolant will come flying out unless you're trying to get it off quickly. I recently replaced my water pump and followed the instructions to a "t", and on level ground, had no issues.

Yup remove it slowly, stop when it starts hissing dont take it all the way off till the pressure bleeds off.
